Cigarroa to head UT System
University of Texas regents Thursday unanimously named Francisco Cigarroa as sole finalist for chancellor, the top job leading a system of nine universities and six medical institutions.
Amazing! The regents have selected a person in charge of a system that has been unable to get budgets for the departments at CTRC. Who [...]

Why Cigarroa?

What!
UT regents focus on 2 from S.A.
University of Texas regents have narrowed their search for a new chancellor to two San Antonio finalists — AT&T executive John Montford and Francisco Cigarroa, outgoing president of the UT Health Science Center, sources said Wednesday.
Why would Cigarroa be considered?

Those superior UTHSCSA business practices
June 11, 2008
You would think that when one organization takes over another that has been financially “bleeding” profusely it would clearly lay out financial expectations (you know, things they call budgets) for the various departments to ensure accountability and identify the problem areas. You would think. But six months after being taken over by the University of [...]

I hope by now that most people have gotten over the notion that the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio took over CTRC in order to save it. “Saving” it somehow implies that UTHSC-SA has special skills or more effective skills that exceed those of who were doing such a “lousy” job of running [...]
Never having to say you’re sorry-cont.

Does anyone know why the CTRC loading dock is once again open? As part of its take-over, UTHSCSA decided to shut down the CTRC loading dock and have all shipping go through UTHSCSA central receiving. But now, for some reason, the CTRC loading dock is back in business. Can anyone come up with the slightest [...]

Of course, I still think there are some serious issues in terms of logo and branding but it’s a start.

Does anyone know why UTHSCSA has decided to hire three housekeeping positions for CTRC after letting go all of the CTRC housekeepers as part of the takeover?

Message to UT System Board of Regents Concerning CTRC
January 14, 2008
The UT Health Science Center hasn’t wasted any time in getting its branding on the CTRC. Never mind that employees still haven’t been told how to fill out time sheets, this is the important stuff.

And, of course, it’s absolutely necessary as part of UTHSCSA policy, right? I’m sure they consider [...]
Because we don’t do that
January 6, 2008
At the town hall meeting that UTHSCSA gave when it began its “merger” with CTRC, the speakers assured the audience that they would take the best from both organizations. Well, it has become clear that UTHSCSA thinks that only they have the best.
While it’s annoying to hear that you have to change because that’s the [...]
Just how badly done was it at CTRC?
January 3, 2008
I really wish I could tell you some of the details of what has happened during the merger that show how unprepared and uninformed UTHSCSA was about the merger and how little was done to protect the interest of CTRC employees. But I can’t.
To give you an idea of the range and depth of the [...]
