Are you kidding me???? Of course he wants them to buy out his contract. I want a quarter of a million dollars too. Heck I would settle for lower water bills every month. I tend to think that if the man feels he doesn’t want his job anymore then he should ask to get out of his contract with no payment from Bexar Met, not expect a bonanza because he chose badly within his job. You know, the worst part of it is that I have been writing about this man’s bad choices almost since we started this blog and he will probably get a windfall for being a sleeze. Why is it that lowly little me could see his colors and those who have been elected to be responsible for more money than I will ever see in my life followed him like sheep? I am simply amazed by the idiocy of this being put on the agenda instead of laughed at.

How funny, if it had nothing to do with homosexuals then why wouldn’t the rubber stamp stay a rubber stamp? Thank you WOAI for reporting this. Sheila McNeil and the council should never be ready to rubber stamp things if they can’t stand the light of day.

The city would like to be very clear that this has nothing to do with homosexuals. I know these things happen but a change from Gay street to Second Baptist Way is just a little too quirky to believe that it has nothing to do with the name of the street. It is certainly weird news though and I couldn’t help but post it.

A family’s home is flooded and they’re blaming BexarMet. They also say the utility company is going back on its promise to fix the damage. News 4 investigated.

I look for bexarmet news because, my goodness, it is just a train wreck over there but this popped yesterday and I just don’t get it. I have had Bexar Met turn off my water within the last month and they come and tell us they are turning it off but don’t come back and tell us it is back on. You just check the faucets throughout the day and when it is back on the water works. I am not sure how this is a news story or how anyone can blame a utility for their negligence in leaving a faucet on. The complaint isn’t that BexarMet came in and opened the faucet and then turned the water to the house back on it is that while the water was off the family left a faucet on and then forgot about it. How is this BexarMet’s fault and why in the world would BexarMet have ever told them anything other than sorry about your damage but don’t leave your faucets on. I can say a lot about Gil Olivares and the board of BexarMet but I refuse to blame them for a homeowners own negligence and am more than a little surprised that WOAI covered this from the homeowners perspective when the story should really be look at the kind of hassles BexarMet’s lawyers have to deal with.

T. J. Connolly has been indicted again for illegal campaign contributions.

The indictment, which is against Connolly and his company, alleges he gave illegal campaign contributions to City Councilman Philip Cortez.

This week's indictment comes just four months after Connolly was indicted for funneling money to a Bexar Met Water Board candidate.

I had to go back in our archives to figure out what this was about. I have to wonder why Gil Olivares and company wanted Philip Cortez on the city council instead of Manuel Navarro Jr. Well, I don't really have to wonder because if there wasn't something in it for them then they wouldn't have cared who took the district 4 seat. The councilman says he is shocked and surprised and has returned the contributions. I find that a tad hard to believe that in such a small race there are that many contributions that you don't know who is behind them but I am not sure that the councilman could have said anything else. Court starts this month on the Bexarmet indictments.

Connolly Indicted For Illegal Contributions To City Councilman | WOAI.COM: San Antonio News

Connolly's attorney said the district attorney's office is targeting his client. He told News 4 Connolly had no idea what he was doing was illegal and obviously would not have done something to jeopardize his company or himself for such a small amount of money.

I tend to believe it is true that Connolly didn't know what he was doing was illegal but it was his job to know whether it was or not. The idea that it didn't occur to him that funneling money to pro-Olivares candidates was wrong is almost laughable. Now, wrong and illegal aren't always the same thing. He should have known better, what a silly thing to lose your reputation for. I can't imagine it was worth it.

Calling it their fight club, these students are mimicking the “Fight Club” movie that came out six years ago. After seeing the video clips on youtube.com, Dr. Harey got a hold of La Vernia Police Chief Bobby Hyatt and the high school’s liaison officer.

“My school officer, when she watched the thing, she could tell me every kid who was involved and she knew the voices and these kids actually called each other by names, so you knew who was involved with it,” said Chief Hyatt.

Over the past two days, many of the students in this fight club have been questioned. Depending on their involvement, Chief Hyatt says some may face juvenile detention.

I understand that this is a horrible thing to do. There should be consequences for those involved but would punishing kids for violence by putting them into violent facilities really help.
