Wow, bad choice
The Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund has gotten a hold of this speech given by an Oklahoma State Legislator, who thought only 50 people were listening when she went on this disgustingly anti-gay tirade.Some money quotes:
“No society that has totally embraced homosexuality has last more than, you know, a few decades.”
and
“I think it’s the biggest threat that our nation has, even moreso than terrorism or Islam, which I think is a big threat.”
The Victory Fund has launched a campaign called “Are You Listening?” which will let lawmakers like this know that yes, we hear their anti-gay tirades, even when they think they’re speaking to only 50 or so people.
Oh my, my, my. Sally Kern, Oklahoma City Representative needs to check herself. Her comment about societies embracing homosexuality lasting only a few decades is outrageous and totally false. I really have to wonder if she truly thinks that a gay man or lesbian is worse thanTimothy McVeigh. She is from Oklahoma City, you would expect she would have a little more tact when it comes to terrorism. I can’t imagine those personally affected by the Oklahoma City bombing felt all warm and cozy when they heard her say that.
Click on the video of the speech, you will be absolutely blown away by this woman. She is worried about homosexuals taking over city councils and I am appalled that people like her have the nerve to call themselves Christians and have been elected to office. Scary, scary stuff.
