Clinton, Obama debate with less finger-pointing - CNN.com
Democratic rivals Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama spent their last debate before next week’s Super Tuesday contests pointing out differences on Iraq, health care and the economy — but without all of the finger-pointing that’s marked their campaigns.
I have to admit I haven’t been paying much attention to the primaries or the campaigns at all but given I am a news junkie there was no way not to know what was happening between Clinton and Obama. I saw a clip here or there and it would just make me want to shake them or put them in time out because the barbs they are throwing will follow the candidate who wins the primary all the way through the general election and could be the difference between having a democrat or a republican in the white house. In fact the barbs were one of the reasons I haven’t been paying attention. I know when we have a nominee that I will step up and stand behind whoever it is and I wouldn’t feel good about that after watching them both make fools of themselves slamming the other one. I hope that finally they realized what kind of damage they were doing to themselves and each other and they are done. I certainly can’t imagine that the DCCC didn’t realize the kind of damage they were both doing and hopefully has finally put a stop to it. You would think that each campaign would have had people smart enough to know they were just eating their own but it sure hasn’t seemed like it these last few months. I also hope beyond hope that when the nominee is finally announced that he or she is smart enough to change their staffs and find people that wouldn’t have allowed them to make these kinds of stupid mistakes.
