Our Purpose

Mission:

Texas bloggers have formed the TexBlog PAC to effectively harness the power, energy, talent and financial resources of the online, progressive community to make Texas a better place by electing Democratic candidates at all levels of state and local government.

Building on the success of widely read progressive blogs like www.burntorangereport.com, www.offthekuff.com, and www.capitolannex.com, to name a few, the TexBlog PAC will go beyond real-time message delivery and actually play a role in competitive races.

By contributing to progressive candidates, fostering the energy of the netroots, supporting party infrastructure, registering new voters, funding civic education programs, and assisting like-minded grassroots activists, Texas bloggers will help elect progressive candidates in 2008, and beyond.

Because the past half-decade has been such a disaster, the TexBlog PAC wants to end the era of one-party Republican rule in Texas by electing Democratic candidates at every level. The bottom line: uninsured kids, public school children, college students, current teachers, retired teachers, seniors, the elderly, workers, homeowners, small business owners, conservationists and veterans simply can’t afford another two years of Republican corruption, cronyism, and cuts. The Texas Bloggers PAC will create meaningful change in Texas politics.

Primary Purpose:

During the 2008 election cycle, the TexBlog PAC is committed to changing the direction of Texas politics by taking back the Texas House. The TexBlog PAC will work toward winning six additional seats in the Texas House, allowing Democrats to elect a Democratic Speaker. A net gain of six house seats will put an end to the Republican claim of “absolute” power and restore democracy and the democratic process to the people’s House.

We finally got everything to work posting and if you notice to the left we have added an amazing link to the TexBlog PAC. Help take back the Texas House by donating here.

  3. Congratulations on getting up and running. I would be grateful for a contribution from the PAC to my campaign for judge of the 151st Civil District Court in Harris County, Texas. Civil judges make a big difference in people’s lives when they are going through some of the worst times of their lives. When they have been injured by an individual or a corporation, when they are facing the loss of their life savings or business, and when they have been discriminated against in one way or another. As a judge, I promise to make the playing field level once again, instead of constantly tilted toward big business and insurance.
