Places in San Antonio to watch the game
The Best Sports Blog in Town : Find a Place to Watch the Cowboys/Packers Game
Time Warner and the NFL Network have been unable to come to an agreement. So if Time Warner is your cable provider, you’re going to be looking for someplace to watch the huge Cowboys/Packers game Thursday night. We already talked to Retama Park, and they’re showing the game in their sports bar. Fatso’s Sports Bar also tells us they’ll be showing it as well.
What a mess. It is really awfully sad that the NFL network and Time Warner can’t come to an agreement. It is all about the money and it’s funny that Jerry Jones is trying to paint Time Warner as an evil giant when the NFL network is just as much an evil giant. Of course, that means that I will have the misfortune to spend 3 hours at the most uncomfortable place for me, a sports bar. Make no mistake, neither party is in the right in this argument even though your good buddy, Jerry Jones, has asked all cowboys fans to cancel their cable. The NFL network is making outrageous demands and it is, of course, all about the money. If they can get their channel on the basic package not only do they receive their fee of 70 cents per subscriber (more than any other non pay channel) but they also get to market to advertisers with the full subscriber base numbers while if they are on a tiered level they would only be able to use the numbers for the people who pay for the tiered service. It all seems so petty and I wouldn’t expect either side to give in any time soon.
