Bexar Met wants to speed up raising fees
The board of the Bexar Metropolitan Water District
declared several properties surplus Monday and authorized its general manager to negotiate sales agreements to bring back to the board.
It also abandoned an 18-month-old effort to get fees raised for service to new developments through application to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. It decided to use another method to try to speed up the process of raising the fees.
This is exactly Gil Olivares has done before. If they don’t like the answer they are getting they just work around it to get what they want. I know that regulation can be a pain in the butt to work with but it is there for a reason and “using a different method to try to speed up the process” is the reason Bexar Met came close to being taken over by the Bexar County Commisioners Court to begin with. They know they are in the sights of the legislature you would think it would be smart for them to follow the letter of the law.
