Another possibility

I was talking to someone today about the Armenian resolution and she has a different take on the situation. She saw the passing of the resolution as a way to put pressure on the situation in Iraq and possibly force troop reductions. If Turkey closes it’s borders, transportation becomes a major problem for the military. By supporting the resolution on Armenian genocide, the Democrats and Republicans can claim this has nothing to do with Iraq and not take the heat as being defeatists.

I don’t know if I’m convinced. Even if Republicans want troops out of Iraq, would they go along with this knowing how much it could damage our relations with Turkey? Maybe they figure they can just sell them some more advanced weapons to make it up? Or maybe it’s just a few politicians “masterminding” this without the rest seeing the greater purpose? If so, I can’t wait to see what they come up with to undermine our relations with Pakistan.
