Audit Reveals More Problems At Bexar Met | WOAI.COM: San Antonio News
An independent audit is revealing more problems at Bexar Met Water District.
The audit found Bexar Met paid employees overtime that wasn’t approved, didn’t keep track of mistakes in customers’ bills, and entered into a contract with public relations guru T.J. Connolly that wound up costing thousands more than originally agreed upon.
Connolly is currently under investigation for funneling money to candidates for the water board while he was working for them.
In response to the audit, a Bexar Met spokesperson said proposed legislation to break up the water district caused many of their problems. They said because of that proposed legislation, they needed the contract with the public relations firm to try to fix their image with the public.
Of course the audit revealed problems. BexarMet is a mess. I love that they blame the proposed legislation for ‘many of their problems.” Of course they forget there wouldn’t have been proposed legislation if they already didn’t have many problems.
