Guess who sponsored the resolution?

Another reason why Cornyn needs to go:

The Canadian Press: Democrats fail to pass anti-war bills despite unpopular conflict in Iraq

Also on Thursday, Republicans successfully pushed through a resolution condemning an advertisement by the liberal activist group MoveOn.org. Displayed in The New York Times, the ad taunted Petraeus as “General Betray Us.”

The resolution, sponsored by Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas), passed by a 72-25 vote.

Whether or not you agree with the MoveOn ad, the senate’s reaction goes a long way to explaining why no high ranking officers have been held accountable for actions in Iraq. Apparently, there isn’t anyway to criticize the military brass (unless it’s for speaking out against the Bush administration) without being accused of being un-American.

So what do you think Cornyn’s explanation is for the report released by the military a week after Petraeus’ testimony that reached basically the opposite conclusion that Petraeus presented to congress?

Just supposing that the next president isn’t a Republican, what will Cornyn use to justify his election if he can’t claim to be the ultimate sycophant for the president?
