Clinton unveils mandatory health care insurance plan - CNN.com

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton announced a $110 billion health care reform plan Monday that would require all Americans to have health insurance.

Clinton unveiled her “American Health Choices Plan,” during a high-profile speech at a hospital in the key campaign state of Iowa, surrounded by supporters, American flags and campaign banners.

“Here in America people are dying because they couldn’t get the care they needed when they were sick.

I have a lot to say about health care. I am appalled that Texas is number 1 in people without insurance and number 1 in children without health insurance. Something has to be done and no one seems to want to do it.

The problem lies that even after everyone is covered that the coverage really doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. My family in I pay quite a bit for what United Health Care calls one of its very best coverages and I am here to tell you it isn’t worth squat. They cover what they want and find a way to disallow what they don’t. I have a tiered co-pay that puts emergency care clinics (Texas Med Clinic) and emergency rooms on separate tiers but they made the emergency care clinics sign a contract designating them as an emergency room so what is the point. They cover what drugs they want and don’t have a problem just blowing off others without having a comparable alternative that they will cover. I know I am sounded defeatist right now. It is probably because I brought my oldest to the doctor yesterday and of course 2 out of 2 of her prescriptions are not covered and full price is over $350. I don’t have a solution because as long as we don’t have real campaign finance reform our politicians will be bought and paid for by big companies like United Health Care and nothing will change.
