“Do not call” list set to expire next Saturday
TYLER - The “Do Not Call” list has helped millions of people stop the annoyance of some telemarketers who call at odd hours of the day and night.
But if you were one of the many people who signed up- listen up.
The reason is because, little did we know, the “Do Not Call” list came with an expiration date.
Only if you signed up 5 years ago, you have until next Saturday, September 15th, to sign up again.
Otherwise, the barrage of phone calls will pick up where they left off.
It effects anyone who signed up back in 2002.
I guess I must not have read the fine print because I didn’t know that I had to go back every five years but oh well. So this is just a quick reminder to go the registration page and reregister your phone number.
**UPDATE**
Lovely, this is a scam. No one should have to renew until roughly sometime next year. Thanks P.M.Bryant from B&B for the link to scambusters.

This seems to be one of those numerous internet rumor that isn’t true. Any expiration date of individual registrations is apparently not until roughly this time next year at the earliest and one can always re-register at any point, before or after that date.

These articles/emails that imply that if you miss a date you are out of luck are quite misleading.
One can verify one’s registration (and expiration date) at https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx
