Lifesize cut-outs slow traffic for homeowners

“The speed limit is 55 MPH just down the street,” explained Mike Wood, who lives near the downtown area. “Then over here, it changes to 35 mph so cars come speeding by.”

Then Wood put some pictures of his children in his front yard and ever since then, drivers have been slowing down. Some even take the time to call him on the phone. Often, they’re yelling.

Wouldn’t this only slow someone down once. In fact wouldn’t it be vandal magnet. I am not really someone who gets terribly annoyed while driving and much to my husband’s annoyance I don’t speed but I can’t imagine a driver that gets surprised or frightened by a child near the road only to realize it is a cut-out of a child would be terribly thrilled with it.
