Larson believes paying fines is amnesty

So Larson is against the immigration reform bill.

Larson considered the bill too flawed.

“If anything, it stimulated the base of the (Republican) Party,” he said. “If this is the way the Democratic Party is going to move — that they’re going to move us toward amnesty — it gets a lot of people motivated to get out and support candidates who have a different position.”

I love it when politicians talk about something being “too flawed.” It makes them sound like that they’re really for something if only it had been differently. So Larson’s not against the bill but he’s not really for it either, how convenient.

Looks like he’s never received a speeding ticket either since he’s bringing up the “amnesty” issue. I think he’s taking the easy way out. If he really thinks it’s amnesty then he must believe that all illegal immigrants should be returned to their home country immediately. But you don’t hear that from him or many of the others who are against amnesty. Why?

Could it be because it would it would cost the Republicans money both in terms of employers having to pay higher wages and the government having to hire more people to actually enforce the existing laws? It’s so much easier to be against amnesty and stay with the status quo rather than put your money where your mouth is.
