New 7 wonders of the world named - CNN.com

The final tally produced this list of the world’s top human-built wonders:

• The Great Wall of China

• Petra in Jordan

• Brazil’s statue of Christ the Redeemer

• Peru’s Machu Picchu

• Mexico’s Chichen Itza pyramid

• The Colosseum in Rome

• India’s Taj Mahal

You have to wonder when we were in school we were required to learn about the 7 wonders of the world, will our next generation have to learn these instead of the ones we learned? Of course they gave the Pyramids at Giza honorable mention on the list. I just can’t imagine that they wouldn’t have made the list had they been an option to vote for but I suppose since the point was to promote tourism they didn’t want to give up the spot to Egypt when they already have a spot on the original list of 7 wonders.
