As far as I’m concerned, stories like this serve only to undermine the reputation of the education institution rather than enhance it.

UTSA recognized as one of the top business schools in nation - San Antonio Business Journal:

UTSA earned this designation from AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. There are only 549 accredited business schools worldwide.

“Our AACSB accreditation places us among the world’s elite business schools,” Dean Lynda de la Viña says. “Less than 10 percent of business schools worldwide achieve AACSB accreditation. This reaccreditation affirms the quality of our academic programs, faculty members and student services and programs.”

What am I talking about? Here’s a listing from the AACSB website of business schools in Texas it has accredited:

Don’t get me wrong. I believe that you can get a great education from UTSA if you want to. I just don’t think that AACSB accreditation has much to do with the quality and ”eliteness” of the program.
