Kiva
To your right there is a link that says “Make a loan, Change a life.” It is for a non-profit called Kiva, Swahili for agreement or unity. It is a very simple idea that can help change the world.
You make a loan (I would personally call it a donation because while they have 100% repayment rate there is always risk with lending money) to the person you choose on their site. They have hundreds of people in need of small loans that can help their businesses move forward. Each person who is asking for a loan gives the reason for the loan and you get a little background information about them and where they are from. After you have made the loan and it has been fully funded the partner organization will send updates while they repay it. Check them out at www.kiva.org
