So much for restoring cuts to the Children’s Health Insurance program.

I beg your pardon, it looks Dewhurst does a plan to improve the health of Texas’ children after all.

Dewhurst also noted his proposals for mandatory steroid testing of Texas public high school athletes and to require that every public school have a portable defibrillator.
It all makes sense now. He doesn’t want to improve children’s health insurance coverage because it might go to poor little black kids undeserving kids who arrive at their appointments in Cadillacs. These are probably the same kids you can’t trust on the football field not to use steroids. But just in case they are deserving poor, he’s willing to pitch in a defibrillator.
