AAA offering free towing to tipsy drivers
Program runs Friday through New Year’s Day.

Wednesday, December 20, 2006HOUSTON — AAA Texas announced Tuesday that it will again offer its free Tipsy Tow ride and towing service to drivers across the state who have had too much to drink.
The get-you-home-safely offer is for the holiday periods, starting Friday and running through New Year’s Day.
There are some restrictions for the statewide program to combat drinking and driving, which is in its 20th year.
The first 10 miles are free. Any destination farther than that will cost the driver a towing-related rate, according to AAA Texas.
The destination is limited to where the driver lives. No advance reservations will be accepted.
People wanting to use the service should call (800) AAA-HELP.
