What is wrong with this man?
Leo Berman really came out of the gate with guns blaring at Latinos this legislation session. Beside HB 28 which wouldn’t allow citizens of the United States to go to public schools, get health care etc. etc he also introduced HB 29 .
80(R) HB 29 - Introduced version - Bill Text:
A money transmission business shall charge a fee on a money transmission that originates in this state and is transmitted to a destination in Mexico or in Central or South America. The amount of the fee is eight percent of the total amount sent by the money transmission.
This only affects people from Latino countries. If I am say a terrorist from a middle eastern country he isn’t bothered if I send money back to an Al Queda camp, only if anyone sends money to one of the impoverished countries south of us. I just don’t know how to spell this out any more to show just how racist this man’s bills are. I think it speaks for itself. Aren’t the people of Texas proud to have him representing us?
In HB 29 he does allow a refund of the fee if you fill out the correct form and provide 2 forms of identification within 90 days. I don’t know about everyone else but I don’t even send in rebates that I only have to include a receipt with. I always mean to but in the end I never do. Leo Berman is a blight on Texas, I know we have some time to wait but we can’t allow him to spend another term in office.

In response to both HB28 and HB29. Just a reminder. According to Webster’s ELEMENTARY dictionary the deffiniton of oppression is “cruel or UNJUST use of power or authority”.
Another deffinition to the term “oppresion” is used in the essay “Interrupting the Cycle of Oppression: The Role of Allies as Agent of Change” by Andrea Ayvazian. According to Ayvazian, “..the term ‘oppresion’ is to describe the combination of prejudice plus access to social, political , and economic power on the part of a dominant group.”
My 5th grade son could easily make the correlation between these bills and an attempt at systematic oppresion. I hope our representatives can do the same.
